Lakwatsera de Primera is the personal journal of her adventures in the Philippines and abroad. It aims to inspire her readers to start exploring new places and start having their own adventures through her pictures, memorable stories and budget-travel tips. We live in a wonderful world that gives us endless opportunities to see new places, make new friends, and embark in new adventures. Let’s go!
Lakwatsera de Primera is what my grandmother used to call me whenever I get home late in the afternoon all dirty and unkempt from playing in my neighborhood. “Lakwatsera” is the Filipino word for someone who is always on the go or always traveling while de primera are the Spanish words for number one also called numero uno. It’s actually part of the long sermon I get from her because of my itchy feet. If I wasn’t climbing trees or rooftops, swimming in the river or running around the grass field near our house, I was always in the our neighborhood playing patintero, tumbang preso, agawan base, sipa, piko, luksong baka etc. Fast-forward 10 years, I still have itchy feet and have developed an insatiable thirst for adventure, discovery and knowledge with a bigger playground this time. She doesn’t call me lakwatsera de primera anymore but I had decided to use it as my moniker. Now she doesn’t give me a long sermon anymore but asks for pasalubong instead.

hi claire, finally i got some time to sit down and read some of your travel blog. Your priceless experiences and stories reflects the beauty of our own philippine islands. Its amazing scenery mirrors your true love and fascination of mother nature. Hopefully on your anniversay,, do some favor to your fans and conduct a beach party to one of your favorite island which is a package deal and hte proceeds will go to your foundation or whatever, You can also get some sponsorship to some company that is related to travel. Think about it, your a big star now!! Congrats and Thx !!
Wow, that’s a great idea. I will definitely try that one day just because of the possibility of raising funds for a foundation. It’s like having fun for a cause
yeah, try mo lng .. all u need to do is find a respectable travel agency where everybody can buy an all inclusive package deal… find some sponsors for drinks and food, nice but a cheap place of venue your good at it, and hire some staff depending on how many people are coming…Then all the proceeds will go to your foundation you have started….. For example : 100 people commited to join @ P10k each for 4d/3n ( i dont know if that numbers are realistic, depending on phil, economy) all inclusive = 1 Million pesos.
If 50 people only= half a million pesos…still not bad db! Cgurado masaya yan,,Think big claire! maybe not this but someday.. and looking forward to tht day, Thx
Hello, Claire. I accidentally stumbled upon your blog while searching for travel tips. And I must say that was one lucky day! I love your posts, your photos, your zest for life, and your energy!
Keep spreading the travel bug. Hope to bump into you in one of my travels.
